CC0 image classes
The following two classes of published Iconoplasm images are made available under CC0 1.0 Universal:
- Published gene portraits — the unlabelled character image selected for a gene.
- Published gene blots — the labelled image that places the full gene name and gene symbol over the selected portrait.
To the extent Brinedew holds copyright or related rights in these published images, those rights are waived under CC0 1.0 Universal. You may copy, display, embed, hotlink, redistribute, modify, and use these images commercially or noncommercially, including in pathway diagrams, teaching materials, and AI-generated documents, without requesting permission or providing attribution.
Remote embedding and hotlinking of these images through Iconoplasm’s public image URLs are permitted, subject to ordinary technical rate limits and service availability.
What this does not cover
This CC0 dedication applies only to the two published image classes above. It does not license Iconoplasm software or source code, catalog data or metadata, prose, private generation prompts, private or unpublished images, trademarks, paid services, APIs as a service, or any other Brinedew asset. Those materials retain their separately stated terms.
Machine-readable permission
Gene pages, the public image resolver, and image HTTP responses identify the applicable CC0 license. The public resolver also states the operational permissions directly so software does not need to infer them from copyright doctrine.
